A little bit of Christmas magic in the woods...
I'm so looking forward to welcoming you and your little ones to my Christmas Mini Sessions this Sunday!
Before the day arrives, I thought I'd put together a little guide with everything you might need to know, from finding me in the woods to choosing what everyone should wear.
Most importantly, I want you to come along, relax and enjoy yourselves. These sessions are all about capturing a little bit of Christmas joy, some lovely moments together and, of course, a few photographs to treasure for years to come.
When & Where
Sunday 1st November 2026
Ladock Woods, near Truro

Parking: There is a carpark which is at the entrance of the woods, its free. Once you arrive, walk to the end of the carpark toward the big gate, head through the kissing gate and keep to the far right path. Head down the hill (beware it could be muddy so maybe wearing wellies to walk down?) and you will see the woods ahead of you and to the right you will see me set up in under the tree cover.
I will tie ribbons hopefully to the trees so you can follow them down to me, once you see the open space under the trees you’ll see me.
Please aim to arrive around 5–10 minutes before your allocated session time, allowing a little extra time to get everyone out of the car and make your way to me. I won’t be meeting people at the carpark this year.
As these are mini sessions, I'll be working to a fairly tight schedule throughout the day, so arriving on time will help us make the most of your time together.
What to Wear
One of the loveliest things about photographing Christmas sessions outdoors is how beautifully the natural surroundings work with all those cosy autumn and winter colours.
Think chunky knits, little cardigans, corduroy, cosy dresses, tights and boots. Creams, oatmeal, warm browns, forest greens and deep burgundy all work beautifully amongst the trees, and a little bit of tartan can look lovely too!
You don't need to match everyone perfectly. In fact, I much prefer outfits that complement each other rather than everyone wearing exactly the same thing.
I'd recommend avoiding large logos, very bright colours and anything too distracting, but please don't feel you need to rush out and buy a whole new wardrobe. Often the simplest outfits photograph the most beautifully. And don't forget, we'll be in the woods in November, so please dress for the weather! Layers are always a good idea, and sensible footwear is definitely recommended.
(Oh god I am sorry for leaning into AI for outfit ideas… but its kinda handy for this!!)
A Little About Your Session
Each session will last approximately 20 minutes, and although that might sound quite short, it's plenty of time for us to capture some lovely photographs.
I've created a simple, cosy Christmas setting amongst the trees, with a beautiful wreath, greenery and a few festive touches, keeping everything natural and relaxed.
These sessions are primarily for the children, but if you'd like to jump into a photograph or two with them, please do! I know how easy it is to always be the one taking the photographs, and it's lovely to have a few memories of you all together too.
And please, don't worry if your little ones are shy, full of energy or not particularly interested in sitting still. I've photographed plenty of children over the years, and there's absolutely no expectation for them to behave perfectly or smile at the camera the entire time.
Sometimes the loveliest photographs happen when they're simply being themselves.
A Few Little Things to Remember
We're going to be outdoors, so please bear in mind that the ground may be a little damp or muddy. Warm coats and suitable shoes for walking to the location are a good idea.
If your little one has a favourite cuddly toy or something that helps them feel comfortable, you're very welcome to bring it along.
And if things don't go quite to plan on the day, please don't worry. Children are children, and I promise we'll just go with the flow!
We are protected by tree cover so unless its completely torrential, we’ll be going ahead! But I will keep people updated and as much notice as possible if the weather does us dirty!
What Happens Afterwards?
After your session, I'll carefully select and edit your photographs in my usual warm, natural style.
Your gallery: Your gallery will be delivered in maximum 2 weeks. It will be smaller than a full session gallery. Expect 15-20 images, from this you can choose 5 images to download to keep.
If you decide to upgrade you can purchase the full gallery for a set price of £45.
You'll then be able to enjoy your photographs and choose your favourites, ready to share with family or perhaps use for those all-important Christmas cards!
See You on Sunday!
I really can't wait to see you all.
Thank you so much for choosing me to capture a little bit of your Christmas cheer this year. I know how busy this time of year can get, so I'm really grateful that you've made the time to come along.
Fingers crossed for some lovely autumn light, happy little faces and just the right amount of Christmas magic!
Lots of love,
Georgie x
